USB Driver problem

C

Carolyn H.

I have been trying to install an MP3.. first attempt was with RCA and got
that the player device driver wasn't recognized in my USB port. Okay fine..
I now have an IPOD Shuffle and get the following error when I place it in
the USB "Drivers for this device are not connected error "Code 28.

I have USB1 and I have 4 ports. 2 port already have working items for a
printer and a mouse.

Any thoughts on getting around this?

Thanks
C.H.

Yes, go ask tech support for the iPOD. The "dev" onthe end of this newsgroup
name meas we "develope" drivers.

That said ... uninstall everything you have attempted.

1. The easiest way is to go into system restore and restore your system to a
time prior to your first abortive attempt.
2. If youcan't finda SR point that works, then uninstall the device, search
the \Windows\INF directory for newer files with the names of the devices you
have attempted to install and delete the instances of INF/PNF. A word of
caution, don't delete the INF/PNF files unless it is theonly device being
installed. Some INF files in that dierectory path install multiple devices.
Reboot and follow the directions of the device you are tring to install.
3. Call tech support for the iPOD
