USB driver compatibility...

I have a Compaq 5170 computer and need a USB driver to get
my ports up and running. Do I need to get a USB driver
specific for my PC or do I simply need a driver that is
compatible with my operating system (XP). Please Help!

Have you tried going to compaq's website and looking
up your pc type or model.

I have, however on Compaq's website they list about 11
drivers for USBs and I can't determine if there is a
specific driver I should use or if they are all generic.

Well try 1 or 2 of the drivers find the one that is or closer
to tyour system
