Chris

I have a new USB memory stick which I assigned as drive T.

These USB devices must have some sort of serial number assigned against
them, because if I remove and re-insert the USB stick, it retains drive
T.

I want it to return to selecting the next available drive letter.

Removing the drive letter assignment in disk management simply means I
can no longer see the device. How do I remove the drive T assignment,
and make it pick up the next available?

Thanks, Chris.

Just assign it to the lowest letter available. If that lettered drive
happens to be un use when you insert your USB device, it will simply
choose the next-higher available disk number.
