USB device not recognized

I have a Digital camcorder (Canon Elura40MC) that is not
being recognized in windows XP, I've tried it in another
computer with Windows 2000 and it works perfectly.
I've called HP to check the problem, because my computer
is a Pavillion 774e that came with the software. And they
can not help me.
I try with another Digital camcorder (Canon Elura50) and
it works. I don't know what to do to make it work with
the Elura40MC.
Can you help me?

I am having the same problem with a Sony camcorder DCR-
TRV330E, which came with Sony USB drivers for all
versions of windows up to 2000. I have searched the net
for a usb driver compatible with windows XP, but with no
luck. Try Canon's website to see if they have an updated
driver which you can download
