USB Device Not Recognized

Klaus Burger

My motherboard (ABIT IC7) supports 8 USB ports (4 fixed
and 4 headers). I connected two of the headers to the
front USB ports of my ANTEC P160 case. One header is
connected to a Mitsumi 7-in-1 floppy/card reader drive. I
checked each of the USB ports by pluging in a mouse. Each
port works fine.

But when I use my Sandisk Cruzer USB drive in the two
front USB ports I receive a "USB Device Not Recognized"
and "Unknown Device" message. Yet it works when I use the
back USB ports.

Any ideas?
Thank you for your help.

Do all USB ports show-up as being USB 2.0-compliant in
Device Manager ?

Are all of the external devices (mouse, flash drive,...)
USB 2.0-compliant ?

Have you looked in Event Viewer for a clue ?
