USB Controller

I recently installed Windows XP Home and I have problems to detect new
hardware on the front USB ports of my computer. I use the Gigabyte mother
board K8NS Ultra-939. It comes with 4 rear and 4 front USB ports. If I
connect my camera (Canon A700) to any of the rear USBs it is recognized, if I
connect it to the front USBs nothing happens...no warning , no error message,
no nothing. What can I do?

1.) Ensure that all USB ports are enabled in BIOS
2.) Check the USB routing cable from the motherboard to the
front sockets is installed properly. The connector is an 8-pin
with a keyed corner point that doesn't have a receptacle hole
to prevent miss-orientation.

Compare the wiring diagrams for the case and motherboard. Put them side by
side if possible, and verify they are the same.
I have an Antec case, and Antec puts an extra ground on #10 pin. It was
grounding ou the front ports. I took nail clippers and cut it, and they work
fine now.
