USB Cable Modem, Sharing using ICS over Wireless Network with Rout

Guest

I have a USB cable modem which is attached to my desktop PC (XP Pro). This PC is connected to a Linksys Wireless G Router. I have 2 laptops, both with wireless G cards. I can share files, printers etc. but the Internet Connection Sharing is not working. I'm not very good with working with DNS, IP's etc... Anyone know what I need to do?

Thanks
Anthony

Bypass the wireless router's routing capability and use it as a
wireless access point only:

1. Temporarily disable Internet Connection Sharing on the desktop PC.

2. Connect the desktop PC's Ethernet adapter to one of the router's
wired LAN ports, not to its WAN (Internet) port.

3. Access the router's built-in web server, which is usually at an
address like http://192.168.1.1

4. Disable the router's built-in DHCP server.

5. Change the router's LAN IP address to 192.168.0.254 to be
compatible with Internet Connection Sharing.

6. Enable Internet Connection Sharing on Desktop PC. If it asks which
connection to use for the home network, tell it to use the one that
connects to the router's LAN port.
