USB 232 Adaptor

I had been working on an unrelated problem (I think)
concerning BSODs eminating from playing video clips in
MP9. Finally, resolved problem by reinstalling W2KPro
(many times and many different ways). Really ended up with
new motherboard and CPU. I have a Belkin hub with 4 USB
1.1 ports, a serial port and a parallel port (this device
and the devices it serves have been on and are still on
and running fine). My new motherboard has USB 1.1 & 2.0
capability. I do not have any 2.0 devices, but I did plug
in so I could have 2ports available externally. Now
everytime I boot, I get the "Found New Hardware" message.
Windows has found a "USB 232 Adaptor". 1)What is this?
All of my USB devices are running fine. 2)Obviously, I
don't need it because I just cancell out of it. 3) But W2K
keeps insisting that it wants to find a driver for it
until I cancel the 2nd time. I have looked for a driver
and for what the "USB 232 Adaptor" actually is, but with
mixed results: CAN'T FIND A DRIVER and I think
the "adaptor" has something to do with "converting" a USB
port to serial or parallel. Does anybody out there have
any ideas or should I just go to "device manager" a delete
it?
All the Best!

all patches.... The scanner still will not load.
