I have a four port Busby powered hub, running on USB 1. If I install a USB
2 PCI card, can I connect the hub to it and get powered USB 2 output to my
scanner, please?

Only if the powered hub is "Full Speed (2.0). Just a suggestion.
When upgrading to USB 2.0 add-in cards it is sometimes a good
idea to disable the on-board USB channels. You can experience
problems having too many USB host controllers in a PC. The IRQ
mapping between on-board & add-in cards can conflict.

IRQ conflict problems may occur on older motherboards using Win98, but this should not be
the case on newer motherboards using WinXP.

The makers site should tell you if it will support USB
2.0 , I would think it would since the USB 2.0 would be
on the card or MOBO and drivers and not the hub that is
just a splitter, but the power part may have a conflict.
I have one that will back feed into the system. If you
turn off the computer it will back feed and keep all the
fans and processor that use 5 Volts powered up.

USB hubs are active devices. Splitters are passive devices.

To get USB 2.0 working you need everything 2.0 including your PCI card, any
hubs, and the device you plug in to it.
