USB 1.1 to 2.0

I have a Laptop Gateway Solo 5300 with a USB 1.1 port. It is possible to upgrade it to USB 2.0? Without a PCMCIA Card!
 
I'm afraid not :( It requires a different USB controller, so you'd have to use a PCMCIA card.
