I cloned my original harddrive to a bigger one using Symantec Ghost but now
Windows XP stops in the "Windows XP" logo with blue background (right after
the first logo with the black background) and although I can move the mouse
pointer it doesnt show the start menu (and I can't access anything:
Taskmanager, Ctrl+Alt+Del, nothing). Entering Safe Mode it's exactly the
same.

I read that maybe this is related with the Activation Features. Is there any
utility or solution to solve this problem?

Thanks
Gus

Just a thought.

It might be worth trying a Repair/Install before a clean install. If
that works, no data or Windows settings will be lost but he will have to
reinstall any updates or service packs.

You didn't, by chance, try to pre-format the new HD or leave the old HD
installed when you tried to boot the clone, did you? You're describing a
classic symptom of those mistakes. At this point, you can try this fix,
which should work as long as your XP was originally booting up as drive C:.

(1) make new clone HD the master, remove any slave HD;
(2) boot from a Win98 boot floppy (download one from www.bootdisk.com, if
you need to);
(3) execute the command "fdisk /mbr";
(4) remove floppy and reboot into XP.

If all goes well, you can add the old HD back in as slave, but not until you
get the system up and running as a one-HD system first.
