URGENT- Simple Question

Junior

I am working through an easy case study in Frontpage 2003.

I am looking at returning an SQL Query to a results page.
The only porgram is that I ddoo not get access onthis page to the
Database results Wizard. I have followed the case study perfectly but
when I go to Insert - Database - Results the option is greyed out and
not available.

What gives me access to this menu option ??

Thanks heaps.

Choose Tools, Page Options, Authoring, then set the drop-down boxes to
Custom, Custom, IE5. Then, select all the check boxes and click OK.

Appreciate your assistance on this one....

Tried this and unfortunately still don't get access to the Insert -
Database - results menu option.

I went through an easy case study with a Search.asp and a Results.asp.
The text box on the search.asp has been set to POST to results.asp.
Problem is I cannot setup the Database results part on the results asp
page.
I have set the Authoring options as per your suggestion but no luck.

Is there anything else that would be limiting access to this menu
option ?

Its just an ASP page and not a website.

The case study I am following doesn't suggest I should have a website
open.
Just says to create two ASP pages.

Have tried opening a Sharepoint Portal site I am working on and still
don't get that menu option.

You have to open a Frontpage Web site first, and *then* open the page and add
the Database Results Region.

This is because the Database Results Region uses resources -- such as the
connection info and the database itself -- that reside *outside* the current
page. FrontPage manages these at the site level, and not at the page level.

You still need to create and open a web in Frontpage. That is the way it
works - you can't create a single page without having a "web" open.

Web in this context is not a "website" (well, it is, but it's a confusing
issue!) You still need to create and open one.

Thanks Andrew.

Sorry for the delayed reply but you were spot on.
Simply created a virtual directory under IIS and copied the page into
it.
Now I have the database result wizard active.

Thanks Again.
