HI,

So for the urgency but I have an license for XP home that
caame with my new PC, and all I got was a recovery disk.
Now I was wondering if it is OK to use a MSDN copy of XP
home and use my product key to re-install the way I want
it...

Is this OK????

According to the ms eula its not ok and technically an oem key will not work
with anything but and oem cd. OEM keys are for oem install and won't work
with another cd. There is a way to burn a xp cd thats a retail cd and make
it accept oem keys. The msdn might work as well. You could burn a cd using
the msdn disk and have it accept oem cd keys.

Just some advice here: since your advanced enough to install your os and
customize it the way you want, the next time you should stay away from oem
computers and just build your own, or have a small shop build you one with
no os. Then you really get exactly what you want and you don't have to mess
with oem cds and recovery cds.

You cannot use your preinstalled OEM license (Product
Key) with any other version of Windows XP. It will only
work with the "recovery disk" that shipped with your new
PC.
