When I double click my icon, to connect to the internet,
it connects fine, then when I try to open my browser it
freezes, but everything else works fine, also when I
check the processes, in windows task manager, the colum
marked PF delta has zeros for all the other processes,
but explorer exe has 1 sometimes 3 why?

Also why, when I'm not connected to the web, all is fine,
but when I am connected my browser locks up, & never
opens, I cannot even shut down normally, I have
downloaded a sevice pack but still the same, could this
be something else, or settings.

How I went about contacting this newsgroup today was by,
opening my browser first then connecting to the net.

I have windows xp home an Dell Insperion 8200 lap top 2.4
ghz 60 gig hard drive 512mb ram, please please help me.

Charles, I can't account for half the things IE6 does, but I have
a basic policy: if it doesn't work right, re-install it after
removing the previous version. nine times out of ten, replacing
IE6 solves the problem; only very seldomly does the problem
persist after a re-install.

Something to consider.
