I worked on a project at my office and saved it on a floppy disc to bring
home to complete. When I tried to open the document I received two errors -
one that said the disc was not formatted and the other that said I was not
authorized to access that drive! I'm the only one that uses my home computer
so I need to know how to allow myself access and I don't understand why the
disc worked at work but now says it's not formatted. THIS IS URGENT - THE
PROJECT IS A FINAL PAPER FOR A GRAD COURSE PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!

If the system you used to copy the file to the floppy disk is an older
system that uses a three mode floppy drive, there is an issue with XP
reading these disks. Your best solution would be to format a blank floppy
disk in XP, return the floppy with the important file to the system where it
was originally created, copy the file to that systems hard drive and then
copy the file to the disk formatted in XP. Leave a copy of the file on the
old system for safe keeping.

You can read the details of this issue in the following MSKB article.
