Recently I posted a question regarding not being able to retrieve a document
I saved to a floppy from another computer. I have since realized that I saved
my doc on a DOS formatted disc. Is there any way to retrieve this information?

There is one possibility. Diskettes formatted on old versions of
Windows, and *especially* ones sold 'pre-formatted' leave out a 'media
descriptor byte'. Older windows doees not mind: XP does. The only way
out of that is to format one in XP (My Computer - right click the A:
drive icon; Format) and take it to an older machine that can read your
problem one, and copy the data files across (do *not* use Disk Copy)

Your DOS formatted disk is the only kind Windows XP can read, and
isn't your problem.

Try this. Format a blank diskette on Windows XP, take that
diskette to the other computer and copy the file you want onto
it. You should then be able to read the diskette.
