Uploading Pictures

I am going to buy a digital camera with a 1 gig compact flash card.

When I am in Europe I will not to "upload" these pictures some how, BUT, I
do not want to take my laptop.

Is there some sort of portable device that will allow me to transfer my
pictures?

Lots of gadgets to do this.
Here is a nice one, just bring some CDs with you and you have infinite
storage capacity. And if you don't bring enough CDs, well they sell some
more in Europe.

"Upload" to where?

A website?

You could probably take your card into any processing retail outlet and have
them read and sent.
