Upload/Download Script

C

Carl

Good Morning,

I am looking for an add-in or a script that will
allow users to visit a page, upload a file and other users
will be able to download files from the page. The page
will be password protected so that only registered users
can access it. The entire ordeal is because one of the
company owners cannot send files through e-mail over a
certain size. She wants to be able to upload them to this
webpage and then the end users can download the files. If
anyone has a script that would work great for this I would
really appreciate it. I'm not savvy on ASP or ASP.net but
willing to use scripts of that nature if directions are
included. Please e-mail reply as well as post reply!

Thank you,
Carl

Check with your host, see what upload components they support first.

I do apologize...I was looking through other issues on the
same subject....I am using FrontPage 2000....File \ Insert
\ Upload doesn't work in FP2000....only in 2003 I
believe!

Thanks,

Steve,

I thought about that...but this needs to be user
friendly! The owner wants to go into her web page, click
on "BROWSE"..pull the file from her PC and click
on "UPLOAD" and have the file upload to the web page for
her VP's and others to be able to select the file and
download it. The FTP is a little more than what they want
to do. If you know of any scripts or ways to do this
please let me know.

Thanks,
Carl

What server-side script is supported on the server hosting this site?

Thomas,

I know it supports PHP...and JAVA Applets....it's an
Apache server...I'm kind of a rookie to this (if you
couldn't already figure that out)...so I'm not 100% sure
on the whole issue of what is available.

Thanks,
Carl

You should actually ask your host; "What upload components do you support and which are available for me to use on my hosting package?"
