Upgrading to XP deletes My Documents

Hi, Please I Upgraded my Windows 98 to Windows XP and My
files in My Documents folder on the system was wiped out
totally, I need to recover these files back because they
are very important.
Please help me, as I need urgent attention.

This should not be the case at all. It's possible that the
My Documents folder is pointed to the wrong place. Do a
start->search and search for any of the file names you can
remember (Even partially ie: myfile*.* will any file that
starts with "myfile"), or even some of the text inside one
of the files. If it finds them, it will show the location
and you can just copy those files to your new My Documents
folder.
