Just update the drivers. I used my old HDD on a new system (mobo and CPU
significantly different from the old ones), removed the old drivers,
rebooted and installed the new ones, Been OK ever since.
If you clone (make an exact backup copy) of your boot drive, you
can try either of the other poster's suggestions. Keeping an
exact backup copy, is in case something goes wrong.
Otherwise, they look pretty similar. The Intel P.R. department takes
some great pictures. I don't see any "manufacturing dirt" on these
motherboards.

I reformatted the HDD on a Dell once, then put in XP Pro, but forgot to
check the drivers and download them first!
I have several utilities that'll tell me what the drivers should be, but as

all of most of the screens and couldn't use the various buttons.
So, get the drivers first (the moobo CD should have them).
