upgrading to access 2003 from office xp standard

I have office xp standard which does not include access, but I would like to
add it now. Microsoft website says I can purchase Access 2003 at the upgrade
price.

Question is, if the above is possible, can I have Access 2003, but the rest
of my Office products be XP (i.e., do not ugrade the rest of my office suite)?
