Upgrading Movie Maker to 2.1 on a pre packaged windows xp sp2 OS

Hey
When I brought my Dell in 2005Nov, it was shipped with XP SP2 pkg. However,
I see to that Movie Maker is still at version 2.0. .. but not the 2.1. I am
having windows XP Home at Home and XP Professional at office. My Office
Laptop with XP prof has 2.1 version.

Now I dont know how to upgrade that Movie Maker alone. As I already have
several updates since Nov2005 and also XP SP2 pkg. I wish I find some offline
installer for the same and let me install it with peace of mind.

Please help me.

The only way to install Movie Maker 2.1 is
to reinstall SP2 or possibly try the steps in
the following article:

What can I do if I upgrade to Windows
XP SP2 and Windows Movie Maker 2.1
is not installed successfully?

If you want to reinstall SP2...you can download
it from the following site:

Download Windows XP SP2
http://tinyurl.com/6ubys

Generally, users install from the net but this
site allows you to download the complete
file to your hard drive before installing.

It's good for a network administrator because
you can burn it on a CD and install it on as
many computers as you need to.

And it's good for a single machine because
if you ever need to install it again...you'll have
it available without waiting for a download.

Hi
I tried all steps listed in the below link in " http://tinyurl.com/65pfo"
- but no luck. I am still seeing the version as 2.0.3312.0. However the dll
files shows as 2.1.4026.0. I did registering the dlls by dragging and also
registered the moviemk.exe file.

application is still crashing when I try to add files to Timeline View. Its
just crashing at some level or other - it doesnt matter.

Please help me out.

Thanks
Sunil

Bonjour,

Bonne chance, Yannick
