Upgrading from XP Home SP2 to XP Professional SP1

My old laptop bit the dust (second HP in 2.5 years) and I purchased a new
Toshiba which came with Windows XP Home SP2. Since I had a copy of Windows
XP Professional SP1 I figured how difficult could it be to upgrade. Okay, 9
hours later and a lot less hair on my head, I am screaming uncle, I give.
Does anyone out know if there is a way to upgrade, without having to purchase
a new upgrade CD, to Windows XP Professional SP1 from Windows XP Home SP2?

You can use the retail full or upgrade versions of XP to upgrade Home to
Pro. The OEM versions will only do a clean install. What version do you
have?
If you have a retail version, then you should make a slipstreamed version to
SP2.

In order to upgrade to Windows XP Pro, you need to have
a Windows XP Pro installation CD that is at the same
Service Pack level as the current installation, SP2.

All you need to do is make a SP2 slipstreamed version of your
current Windows XP Pro and then upgrade using the new CD.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:
