Upgrading from XP HE to XP Pro

I bought a Toshiba Satellite P10-304 laptop that came preinstalled with Xp
Home edition. i need to Upgrade to XP Professional. i have a full version of
Xp Pro. i started the upgrade, got updated setup files from the internet.
during the second phase of set, the screen just goes black and stays there. i
uninstalled the Norton 2003 software pre-installed, but still the same thing.
what am i doing wrong or how do i get rounf=d this problem?

I tried to upgrade from HE to Pro and got the same result
plus now when I bootup I have to make achoice between the
two. Any Help?
