Upgrading from win98 to winxp

I am upgrading from win98 to winxp home edtion but setup
will not complete because haif down winxp comes back with
a message saying can,t find catalogs cab file. D fatal
error. both win98 and winxp are orignal copies.how do i
over come this headache .winxp keep rebooting without
completing installtion.

Make sure your CDs are clean.
Make sure you have cleaned (blown out) your CD drive.

There is a distint possibility your CD drive just will not read the CD well
enough to install.. in short - it could be defective - try another CD drive.
