Upgrading from ME to XP on my SONY Laptop

i tried to install windows XP (moving from ME) on my SONY
VAIO fx-250 laptop using the upgrade SW. i received no
error messages during the installation, but during boot-
up, i received numerous error messages indicating missing
device drivers?

is there documented process to help me eliminate
these errors?

Did you do a claen install?? If you did and not a upgrade
in place you have wiped out the sony propritary drivers.
XP does not contain , battery managment, touch pad, one
touch, or display drivers for your system.

Yes, there are complete instructions for upgrading on the Sony website
(which you should have looked at before you started the upgrade).
