Hi,
I was running XP Pro on my old machine. The mother board is fried now, so I bought a new system from Dell which came with XP Home installed on it. I want to upgrade again to Pro.
My question is this: If I simply perform an "upgrade" type installation of XP Pro, will it be just as good as if Pro was installed originally? I don't really want to do a clean install because I don't want to re-pave my hard drive and have to install all my software, devices, and drivers again. I have neither the time nor the knowledge to get quite that involved.
I'd sure appreciate any help.
Eric
