Upgraded to XP Prof. and slowed way down

I recently upgraded two PC's to Windows XP Prof. both
PC's have 188mb (not a whole lot of memory) however one
PC is zipping along while the other one is extremely slow
they both have plenty of room on the hard drive (almost
20GB of open space) any clues or fixes to speed the other
one up other than increasing the memory (not sure if that
will help)

1 - 188mb of memory is not enough.
2 - there are many factors that make a computers speed, not just memory
3 - list the specs of both machines and maybe someone can help more
4 - have you done a defrag?
5 - have you scanned for spyware, adware, trojans, and viruses lately?
