Hi, I upgraded my computer from XP to Vista Business via the upgrade
path.

My problem is now when I try to start my computer up the computer
tries to run the Windows XP files and then fails under mup.sys.

Sometimes the computer will not run the Window Xp startup files and
actually start Vista.

How do I remove these Windows XP files so that the computer starts
under XP all the time?

Thanks
Markus

Hi,

If you upgraded, there should not be any XP at all, an upgrade subsumes the
existing installation as part of the license. The upgrade would have moved
the existing XP installation to a windows.old folder and left it on the root
of the drive. You wouldn't be able to boot it under any circumstances.
Please clarify what exactly is happening when you start the system. Is there
a boot selection menu? If so, what is the default?
