upgraded to SP2 then Syspreped-VS-built with SP2 then syspreped

I updated several XP images with SP2 before the Christmas break using SP2's
new sysprep and Ghost 7.5. Somewhere in the process I read that your not
supposed to sysrep images that have been "upgraded" to SP2, that you are only
to use the new sysprep on images that have been built with an XP-sp2 cd,
otherwise you have problems. Now, I dont remember which ones where built with
sp2 and which were upgraded to SP2. Does anyone know
A. how to tell the difference
B. what problems syspreping an upgraded installation can cause?
C. could my goofy Internet explorer problem be related?
Symtoms:
1.Unless the user had local admin rights they cant browse the internet and
only a couple sites on our Intranet.
2.the proxy is correct, IE works fine if rights are elevated
3.IE will grind and grind with nothing happening. look at task mgr and the
app is not responding, plus it shows a second instance of IE running (pop-ups
are turned off)
4.No clues in the event viewer

never mind. If your looking for info on sysprep, go to the Windows XP setup
and deployment group, the answer is Microsft, after saying you cant use
sysprep2 on a machine that was "upgraded" to SP2 instaed of being built with
a slipstreamed cd, changed their mind and said ....Oh, um .....yeah, you can
do that, we changed our mind.......grrrrrrrrrr. Well at least I havnt wasted
a bunch of time trying to figure this stuff out....oh....wait a minute...Yes
I did.....!
