I have Windows XP Home which was installed on my original system which I just
upgraded.

My components are as follows:

ASUS P5GD1 Mobo
Pentium P4 3.2 Ghz Socket 775 Cpu
XfX GeForce6600 256 Mb DDR3
2 x Samsung 512 Mb DDR 400 Mhz RAM
Ultra 400w PSU
Atapi CD-ROM
LG DVD-ROM

Windows and the hard drive (parallel not SATA) boot up just fine and I get
dektop.

My problem is: I have connected the CD-ROM and DVD-ROM using the parallel
cable enclosed with the PRI_RAID connector on the mobo as suggested in the
mobo manual.

When I first start the PC it shows the CD and DVD listed in DOS. However in
Windows under My Computer only the hard drive and floppy show listed. I have
played with the jumpers on the CD-ROM and DVD-ROM with either being slave and
the other master but this makes no difference.I have also tried connecting to
the SEC_RAID and same thing...

Someone told me that this may be a Windows Registry thing? Any ideas on how
to fix it? E-mail solution would be great. Thanks.

DVDs and CDs are not RAID devices, only harddrives.

Turn off the RAID, in the BIOS, for the channel they are connected to.
