Hi,

I just upgraded a Gateway Essential 450 desktop, (Pentium
III) with 384mb of RAM from Windows98 SE to Windows XP
Pro. I have a cable modem and a Linksys wireless router
connected. I have no problems connecting to the internet
with my laptop wirelessly, but now the desktop is unable
to connect. When using Outlook Express to try and get
mail, the host server can not be found as I get a socket
error: 11004, error number 0x800CCC0D.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you run the New Connection Wizard?
