Is anyone having an issue with the automatic upgrade of
their XP Pro? For the last 9 days I keep gettingt he same
critical upgrade being downloaded and installed. The
upgrade is Q811114.
If I look back through the upgrade history it is there
everytime it has downloaded and installed.
How can I fix this?

Hi Robert,

Uninstall that hotfix (Control Panel/Add & Remove), then reboot and
reinstall it.

I've been having the same problem as Robert

Tried your fix, but it did not help. Windows update still keeps trying to install (and install and install)

Will be watching this space if anybody is able to solve it

The following fix worked for me

Subject: Re: windowsupdate offers the same update after every reboot 12/20/2003 11:02 AM PST

By: mike (search by author) In: microsoft.public.windowsupdate

I unstalled IIS from my PC through control panel |
add/remove programs | add/remove windows components |
uncheck IIS. After doing this, this update no longer
appeared in Windows update
