I have XP Home Edition (Upgrade) on my workstation and Win
ME on my laptop.
If I want to upgrade my ws to XP Pro, then can I use my XP
Home Edition and upgrade my laptop with it? How to do it?

You can if your copy of XP Home is a retail version.
If it came bundled with the machine or other hardware
then it is OEM and can only be used on the machine
where it was first installed.

Should be a retail version I think, as Joe states it was an upgrade.

Good point, and likely correct, but I do know some
vendors sold machines in the month before XP general
release and included a coupon for upgrade.
