Hi
If you have a full retail version disk it should give you the option of either an upgrade install or a new install. The upgrade option should preserve all your data files, but it may be advisable to backup those first. If the setup program isn't giving you those options I can only suggest that you take the disk back to where you bought it from and ask them to have a look at it.
