Upgrade vs new installation

I recently upgraded from win98 to windows xp. I am not entirely happy with
the result. I think I am ready to format and do a clean install of win xp.
Can I use that same MS CD (It is marked upgrade) or do I need to purchase a
full install cd?

You can use the same CD. With an upgrade CD, you will just be prompted to
insert the CD from Windows 98 during setup, and this is all the proof it
needs that you quality for an upgrade.
