XP SP3 network connection DSP failure

FYI
just upgraded dell dimension 2400 xp SP2 to sp3
network was not able to function tried to update and resinstall drivers.
Would not connect to DSL or comcast cable with intergrated or internal added
ethernet card. Both manufacturer and ISP said DSP failure. Resetted both
modems and IP config. Uninstalled XP sp3 and all is fine now. No errors were
found when installing sp3. Will try at a later date to upgrade to sp3.
