Upgrade to XP PRRO

Ive got xp home running on my pc at home and its fine, but
ive got data on a partition that i dont want me kids to
see is it possibe to upgrade to PRO so that i can set the
security permisisons
 
Hi,

Sure it's possible, but you don't need to upgrade to take advantage of this
feature. Privatizing folders is available in WinXP Home simply by mapping
your "My Documents" folder to the partition that you have the data on, then
moving the data into it. Then you can privatize that folder to prevent
access.

To move that folder, right-click it in Windows Explorer and choose
properties. Click the "move" button on the target tab. Then see:

It is. But provided you have the data in a folder within your own My
Documents it will only be other uses with Administrator rights that
would be able to get at it in Home
