Upgrade to XP professional

I wish to upgrade to Windows XP Professional, but I have
a major question before I go out and buy the upgrade.

I purchased my computer in Germany, where I live, and of
course it has a German version of XP Home edition. I
would prefer to have an english operating system and so I
was wondering if an english upgrade to XP Pro would be
compatible?

One cannot upgrade from one language version of Windows to
another language version. You'll need to purchase a "full version"
of Windows XP Pro in your desired language version and then perform
a "clean install".
