Upgrade to XP Pro SP2 from XP Home hangs

My upgrade to XP Pro SP2 from XP home hangs at the fourth step, Installing
Windows. Shows 35 minutes remaining. The mouse is still active. The
propaganda window still changes. The activity lights along the bottom of the
screen remain active.

I have let it set for 24 hours and it does not get beyond this point. If I
kill power then turn it back on it says it is restarting setup then returns
to this same point.

Where do the mvps get thier information, the answers are usually wrong....
As microsoft clearly states "Thier is no upgrade from xp home to pro"....The
upgrade is for older windows OS,to go from home to pro,one needs to boot
to xp pro cd,delete the partition (home),create one, then xp formats and
performs
a clean installation.

I get my information from the Microsoft link below.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/howtobuy/upgrading/matrix.asp

As microsoft clearly states "Thier is no upgrade from xp
home to pro"...

Where is the Microsoft link you say clearly states otherwise?.
The upgrade is for older windows OS,

And according to the link I supplied is ALSO a supported upgrade path. Where
do you get your information? I and others have continuely asked for your so
called Microsoft documentation and you have never produced it.
