Upgrade to XP Home on HP

I am attempting to upgrade from Windows Me on my older HP computer. Part of
the way through the process, setup alerts me that it can't find a previous
version of Windows (even though a legitimate Me is still there,) and that it
needs a Windows cd.

Unfortunately, the good folks at HP included their own restoration CDs
instead of the Windows disc, and this does not satisfy Setup. Is there any
way to work around this, or do I need to find and purchase a fresh-install
version of XP?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Check with HP on their website about upgrading your specific model of HP
computer.
Do you have a qualifying CD available? Windows 95, 98 Etc?
