Upgrade to XP from Win98

Hi,

I upgraded Win98 to XP Home SP1. It seemed to go fine.
I created some user accounts during the setup.

When the PC boots up, it asks to select one of the users
and to enter a password. I don't recall setting up the
accounts with any passwords.

I selected an account and tried with no password, but got
the error,

The specified domain either does not exist or could not
be contacted. Contact your sys admin.

I tried starting in safe mode and using Administrator
acct, but it is also looking for a password. I thought
Adminstrator was created with a blank as the default
password.

any help appreciated,
