If your errors cannot be resolved by other means then do a Repair
Install as per the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

A repair install will preserve all of your user data files, installed
applications and configuration settings. Windows Updates will have to
be reinstalled.

Note that if you have upgraded your installed Windows XP to Service
Pack 2 and your CD is for the Original Release or Service Pack 1
version then you will have to create a new installation CD with
Service Pack 2 slipstreamed into it.

In order to do this you will need:
- the full Service Pack 2 download or on CD
- a CDRW drive
- software to create the new install CD image
- software to creat a new CD from the install image created by the
slipstream program.

I use nlite (free) from http://www.nliteos.com to do the
slipstreaming. It works very well.

Good luck

No you can't do that, but you can do a Repair Installation. See
"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

But before you do that, tell us what your "some errors" are. A
repair installation might not be appropriate, and there might be
better things for you to do.
