all my program and data on this new Hard drive without re-installing Win XP
on my new 120GB hard drive. Is there any program that can used to copy
everything to my 120GB hard drive? I don't need to used the old 20GB..thanks
again for your help..

Hi,

Most new hard drives come with a utility disk that will do what you are
asking. Check in the box or download from the web site of the drive
manufacturer.

You can use the cloning program that your hard disk
manufacturer makes available on his home site.

The new hard drive, if purchased retail, will come with software to do
just what you want. If you buy the hard drive whitebox, you can
download the utility software from the drive mftr.'s website.

Replacement retail hard drives have such cloning software provided. Brown
box, or otherwise "drive only" usually do not. The hard drive manufacturer
provides that same software at its website.

Be sure to follow the insructions exactly for replacing your current hard
drive regarding removing your current hard drive before attempting to boot
from the new hard drive.

Some current 3rd party partitioning and 3rd party imaging programs have
assets for copying/cloning one hard drive to another, and will work with
FAT32 or XPs version of NTFS as well. Others may only do one partition at a
time if you have more than one partition on your current hard drive.

In your position, I would keep the PC as is. Use the 120 GB for personal
file storage. Move all personal data to that hard drive. Unless, of
course, the 20GB is showing signs of dying.
