Hi;

I purchased an Abit BD7 Motherboard which has soket 478
and support Pentium 4, can i use Intel Celeron 2 Ghz
instead of that?

Thanks for any help
Faram.

Hello

Yes provided the celeron chip supports that socket yes

Yes, but you'll find the Celeron rather slow.

As a comparison..... AMD2200+ does a Seti at Home unit in 3.5 hours.
Celeron 2.0Ghz takes 11.5 hours. Athlon 1Ghz does a Seti at Home in 8
hours.

Celeron's can't process information very fast. I know, this PC runs on one.
The day I can afford a 'proper' P4, I'm upgrading as fast as I can.
