So you are implying that Vista is not stable?
Is that correct?
Based on what evidence?

No, I'm not. I'm implying that I never made any claims about it's
stability - I have no idea where you got that notion.

Excellent and I'm glad you agree that Vista is a very stable OS.

Frankie Boy has a tendency to make things up in his warped mind. He's really
been off his meds too long. He has a hard time dealing with reality, so
must resort to talking to his imaginary friends like "Rock". When he can't
win a convoluted argument, he resorts to bodily sounds. Poor fellow.

Are you absolutely sure about this?
I've never used Vista upgrade but no other upgrade version of windows
has worked this way.

Just did it with a new, blank, hard drive.

Install Vista with no PID and no activation.

Install again, this time with PID (and activation).

Works.

Don't have a real answer, eh? Isn't that like saying that hospitals
cause sickness and death because nearly everyone in them is sick or dying?

I didn't ask if a small minority of Vista users were having problems, I
asked why *you* claimed Vista is unusable. Falsely, I might add, as
millions of people are using it without problem.

Can I use vista? yes.
Can you use vista? evidently.
Can Joe Sixpack buy it, install it on his computer and use it? probably
not without a lot of effort.
Can Joe buy a new computer with vista and use it? problematic.

Those odds are not good enough.

You got these odd from LV?
You don't have Vista do you?

Then why do you lie and call it unusable?

Can you use vista? evidently.

Certainly.

Only if said "Joe Sixpack" neglects to do any advance research,
planning, and product research, but then goes ahead and tries to put the
newest OS on obsolete, incompatible, or sub-standard hardware
Can Joe buy a new computer with vista and use it? problematic.

It wouldn't be, if Joe buys from a reputable manufacturer. And then if
problems arrive with the new computer, it only demonstrates that the OEM
screwed up; it doesn't mean a thing one way or another about the
"usability" of an OS that you've already admitted is usable. Don't youy
even listen to yourself?

Then, if we were to follow your logic, the simple fact that there is,
as yet, no Vista service pack proves that there are no issues. We both
know that's not necessarily the case, so your reasoning must be flawed,
wouldn't you say? Remember, what Ray implied, although perhaps not
intentionally, was that a service pack would fix issues caused by 3rd
party drivers. Do try to keep up.

Wow Bruce. I have read a few of your "posts here.
You certainly are an obnoxious little prick aren't you?

LOL!

That was my inquire, brink.
I have a valid XP (actualy, I have 4 of them) and I don't see a need to
spend $100 more if I can do a clean install (in a formatted disk without
anything on it).
So, if I understood what you said, I think it's possible, but you have to
install Vista Upgrade twice, correct? Is it to "pretend" you have a Windows
so then you can install an upgrade?

Thank you and thanks all others who replied my question.
