upgrade from XP to 2003 & new pst option

Its been noted that OL2003 uses a new file format and should be used. On
installation, OL2003 created a new PST named outlook1.pst instead of using
my old "outlook.pst" The new pst however is EMPTY as nothing was migrated
over. What is the best method for moving stuff over since i want my OLD
calendar to be the active calendar in the new pst. If i just drag things
over will I lose any connectivity among Outlook items? ie the link between
contacts and journals or other items for activity display... or
"reminders"...will they be reset?

Any help would be appreciated

Just open the old pst file with File>Open>Outlook Data File and close the
new one.
