Upgrade from XP Home OEM -> XP Pro

If I buy a computer where the manufacturer does not supply an XP OS CD, but
only a 'resource' disk (e.g. Dell), can I use a _retail_ XP Pro upgrade
version disk to upgrade to Pro? Or would I need the full XP Pro retail
version to switch? Also, if something happened and I needed to do a full
reinstall, would the upgrade version let me do that, since I wouldn't have
an XP Home CD? Or, again, would I need the full version?
Thanks in advance,
Bill

You may use the "upgrade version" of XP Pro to "upgrade" over
XP Home. However, "clean installs" will require the "full version"
of XP Pro if you do not a Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP Home
CD to insert in the CD drive when requested during setup.
OEM "restore CDs" do not qualify in this respect.
