Upgrade from win2000 to XP Pro swiched boot drives

I upgraded a Win 2000 machine with XP pro. Somewhere in the upgrade
procedure it created a new Drive C and renamed the old drive D to C.
The programs that were on C are now on D.
Start Programs only has new programs in it.
Any ideas on how I can recover from this?

It sounds like you installed winxp and didnt upgrade.
The default win boot drive is C, if yours was origonally D then your
origonal win2k installation was slightly odd

The simplest way to recover is to clean install, deleting all partitions in
the process

Dont forget to backup all data first, and install mobo chipset and other hw
drivers after. Dont rely on winxp default drivers or drivers from winupdate
