Recently upgraded from 98SE to 2000. This may have been a mistake but it has
been done and no turning back. It did resolve several issues that I was
having but has created others. One pc that I use has quit a lot of software
installed on it and is booting slow and when I connect to the Internet I have
problems with MSN as the home page. It loads slow and when I go to Hotmail
and enter the password it hangs. I am not sure what needs to be done. It has
IE 5.5.I have gone through the setting on IE and adjusted but did no good.
The other pc with I connect through it msn cones up quick but still the same
problem with hotmail hanging. I did email hotmail support and like I said
above tried some adjustments to IE but didn't do any good.Any suggestions
from anyone? Do I need to remove some software and reinstall? Hotmail hanging?

My standard issue "can you fix my computer" actions"

1) disk cleanup
a) delete temp internet files
b) del contents of windows/temp
c) clear history
2) run ad-aware and spybot search & destroy.
3) run a registry clean up too. RegSupreme seems to work well
4) do all windows updates.
5) defragment
